Local group finds work for the disabled
It's been tough recently for people out of work to find jobs but it can be even harder for people living with disabilities.
A nonprofit group called Westchester Arc has helped hundreds of people in the region find work at local stores and at large corporations like Pepsico and IBM.
This morning, the organization thanked companies who have provided jobs for the disabled at their 17th annual Employer Recognition breakfast.
Twenty-two businesses received special awards, including Shop-Rite, which has nearly 40 people with disabilities employed at their nine Westchester stores.
