New criminal charges for Yonkers teacher accused of changing grades

A Yonkers high school teacher previously accused of changing test scores, grades and attendance records is facing new criminal charges, including sexual abuse.

Dean Martin, who taught at Saunders High School, was hit with 36 more counts today, which also included endangering children, forcible touching and forgery.

Prosecutors say Martin exploited boys by manipulating their grades and coerced them to have sex. He also faces allegations that he adjusted attendance records and erased absences on official transcripts over a four-and-a-half year period beginning in Sept. 2005.

Martin has been suspended with pay and faces up to seven years in prison if convicted.
