Passenger in Pace student shooting: Cops fired first

The passenger who was riding in the front seat of a vehicle at the center of the fatal shooting of a Pace University student is now sharing his version of events, claiming that Danroy Henry only sped up after a police officer had fired at their car.

Brandon Cox was sitting in the front passenger seat when Henry was killed in a confrontation with Mount Pleasant and Pleasantville police officers outside of a Thornwood bar last year. Cox's story contradicts that of the bar's owner, Stephen Van Ostrand, who says that the officers only fired when Henry accelerated in their direction.

The Henry family's attorney says he may look to file a $120 million wrongful death lawsuit against the Mount Pleasant and Plesantville police departments next month.
