Westboro Baptist Church may protest West Point graduate's funeral

The Westboro Baptist Church did not picket outside of the wake services held last night in Highland Falls for a West Point graduate from Wisconsin killed in the line of duty.

However, the group says it may protest the funeral for Army First Lt. Daren Hidalgo, 24, scheduled for later today.

Officials say Hidalgo was killed last month when his unit was attacked in Afghanistan.

The Kansas-based church was set to protest outside the wake Thursday night, but later canceled. The group has made themselves known by protesting at military funerals and claiming that God is killing soldiers because the U.S. supports homosexuality.

This week the church group won a Supreme Court case that will make it harder to stop demonstrations at military funerals.
