Cops: Woman robbed at gunpoint in Harrison

Police in Harrison say they're canvassing the scene of a gunpoint robbery yesterday in the hopes of finding some sort of physical evidence or a witness who might lead them to the two accused suspects.

Investigators say that the woman was inside or just about to get into her car when she was approached by two men on Purdy Street and Halstead Avenue.

The woman told police that one of the men then displayed a silver handgun and demanded that she hand over her purse, which she did.

The men got away with nearly $2,000 in cash and some gold jewelry, but the victim was not hurt. Police are still unsure whether or not the victim may have been targeted.
