Police: Possible pipe bomb in Tarrytown rendered safe

Police say the possible pipe bomb found in Tarrytown has been rendered safe by the Westchester County Police Hazardous Devices Unit.

The device was spotted by a resident at around 6:15 p.m. yesterday on Walden Road.

Police arrived at the scene and evacuated the area while specialists secured the device.

Authorities have not released any information as to what was the exact nature of the device.
