Federal officials probing scaffolding collapse in Yonkers

Investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration were on hand today in Yonkers to determine the cause of a scaffolding collapse yesterday that left two workers dangling over 13 stories up in Yonkers.

Rescuers from the Yonkers Fire Department spent over 90 minutes getting the two men down safely.

Officials report that the two men were treated for hypothermia and harness compression syndrome due to the extended period of time they were being held up solely by their safety harness. Both men have since been released from the hospital.
