Yorktown flooding worsened by dam collapse
While the entire Hudson Valley is experienced flooding from Sunday night's torrential rains, people in Yorktown have a second place to point their finger for flooding problems in their area.
A huge portion of a dam on White Hill Road in Yorktown collapsed after the barrier buckled under the weight of Sunday's rain.
Alex Alvarez, who lives next to a home that is directly downstream from the dam, says that the rush of water was so powerful that it kept him up nearly all night.
The water from the burst dam also took out part of the White Hill Road Bridge.
