Yonkers roads left underwater by torrential rains

Torrential overnight rains left substantial flooding across Yonkers.

A huge puddle at the Saw Mill Parkway forced exit 9 to be closed, diverting traffic to nearby roads and slowing down traffic to a crawl.

On Nepperhan Avenue, pumps were used to drain the water.

The city says it spent millions in flood-prone areas and that pumps were out when the rain was at its heaviest to try and prevent flooding.
