WC, HV still cleaning up after torrential rains

Floodwaters are finally subsiding across Westchester and the Hudson Valley after torrential rains soaked the region.

Many homeowners were forced to pump out their basements after rain waters flooded in.

A number of roads, including most of the parkways and thruways in the region, were closed through the morning in spots because of flooding, but most reopened after the waters subsided.

Rep. Nita Lowley (D-N.Y.) is planning on asking for federal funding to help shoulder the burden felt by residents and businesses affected by the flooding.
