Flooding a fear as 2nd dose of heavy rain approaches

Just days after every parkway in the Hudson Valley was at least partially flooded by rain and with many local waterways still overflowing, another deluge has been forecast to soak the entire region.

While the water levels in local rivers such as the Saw Mill and Bronx River have receded, local officials say many are still near the breaking point and will likely flood after the impending storm.

Many residents say the first round of rain caused extensive damage, including flooded homes and soaked vehicles left stranded on area roadways. They say they will prepare for the worst as they try to get through the next downpour as dry as possible.
