Cops: Husband not cooperating after wife's body found in WC

The husband of a Bronx woman whose body was discovered in the woods of Yorktown last night is refusing to cooperate, according to authorities.

Police have ruled the death of 40-year-old Tina Adovasio a homicide after her beaten body was discovered by a group of kids on ATVs near the Taconic State Parkway at around 6:30 p.m.

Adovasio's husband, a former NYPD officer, appeared at the 45th Precinct where he was expected to turn himself in, but instead reportedly refused to take a DNA test or talk to detectives.

The mother of four worked as a nurse at the Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle. Co-workers at the maternity ward say they are heartbroken over news of her death.

Adovasio's body has been taken to the Westchester Medical Examiner's Office. While no final determination on a cause of death has been made, investigators say they believe she was strangled.
