Thousands attend fallen NYPD officer from WC's funeral

Thousands attended funeral services today for a fallen NYPD officer from Cortlandt Manor who was killed in the line of duty while trying to take a suspect into custody.

Alain Schaberger was honored by thousands of fellow officers who lined the streets of East Islip, Long Island this morning as his funeral procession made its way to Schaberger's final resting place.

Schaberger, a Navy veteran, died at the age of 42 while trying to arrest a domestic violence suspect, George Villanueva, in Brooklyn on Sunday.

Villanueva is facing first-degree murder charges and could get life in prison without parole for his part in Schaberger's death. Schaberger was laid to rest at the Long Island National Cemetery.
