Lawrence Taylor sentenced to 6 years of probation

Former football star Lawrence Taylor was sentenced to six years probation in Rockland County today for an encounter with an underage prostitute.

The former New York Giants player had pleaded guilty in January to misdemeanor charges of sexual misconduct and having sex with an underage prostitute. The girl, now 17 and identified only as "Christina," appeared in court with well-known attorney Gloria Allred.

"Christina" spoke out about the incident, saying she is upset Taylor is not going to jail and that she is not a prostitute. Allred said the girl wanted to read a victim-impact statement, but the judge didn't allow it because it was not a felony case.

Taylor is also required to register as a sex offender. The judge will decide what level during a hearing on April 12.
