Attorney: Husband charged with murder of WC nurse
An attorney for Ed Coello, the estranged husband of slain Westchester nurse Tina Adovasio, says that Coello has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with her death.
Adovasio's body was found in the woods off of the Taconic State Parkway last week. Investigators said Coello, a former NYPD officer who had been arrested on abuse charges in the past, was considered a person of interest in the case.
Coello told police that his wife disappeared after an argument, but had reportedly been seen dragging a large duffel bag from his home the day after the alleged fight.
According to autopsy reports, the cause of death was asphyxiation. Adovasio also suffered blunt force trauma to the head and chest.
The arrest came just hours after Adovasio was laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Putnam. Services were held at St. John the Evangelist Church where dozens of mourners said goodbye to the Bronx mother of four.
