Rain washing away most snowfall in WC

The mix of rain and snow that has been falling all morning has proven to be less of an obstacle than had been anticipated, but snow is expected to accumulate in the Hudson Valley later this evening.

Commuters awoke to fat, wet snowflakes across the Hudson Valley, but that quickly turned to rain in most areas by 11 a.m., leaving area roadways clear of any slush or flood pools.

This is the second snow event in the area since the first full day of Spring on Monday, but some Hudson Valley residents living in Tarrytown say that they find the snow refreshing, and see it is a welcome reminder of the warmer weather that is sure to come. Some areas north of I-287 could see as much as 6 inches of snow by tomorrow morning, when all precipitation is expected to have tapered off.
