Parents: Bed bugs reported at Mt. Vernon school

Parents in Mount Vernon gathered with school officials this morning to discuss the presence of bed bugs at the Columbus Elementary School, and to find out how school officials are dealing with the problem.

Concerned parent Anna Mendoza says that her child has not been bitten by bed bugs yet, and that she wants it to stay that way. Mendoza believes that the district needs to fumigate the building before the problem becomes a full-blown infestation.

Calls to the Mount Vernon school district were not returned.
