Police: Dead man, tub of chemicals found in car

Police say a dead man and a tub of chemicals were found inside a Jeep that was parked on a quiet, wooded road in Irvington today.

Police evacuated homes and shut down roads surrounding Osceola Avenue at around 6 p.m. Officials from the Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office and hazmat team were on the scene.

Investigators say they're treating the death as a possible suicide.

A note was left in the car that listed the name of a chemical, police say. Members of the hazmat team were trying to determine if the substance in the tub was indeed that chemical.

Officials have not released the identity of the deceased male, but say he appears to be in his early 20s.
