Ex-cop indicted in wife's strangulation death

Prosecutors announced today that a grand jury has indicted an ex-cop from the Bronx in the strangulation death of his wife, Tina Adovasio, whose body was found in Yorktown this month.

Authorities say Eddy Coello has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bail. He faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted, and is due back in court on April 29.

Adovasio's body was found in a wooded area along the Taconic State Parkway several weeks ago. Coello told investigators that his wife, who was a maternity ward nurse, had stormed out and disappeared after they had an argument.

Prosecutors have said they have DNA and video evidence implicating him in the crime.
