Man rescued after threatening to jump off a building in Yonkers

Police say a man who threatened to jump off a four-story building in Yonkers has been rescued.

Authorities say they were trying to talk to the man after a domestic dispute.

A two-hour standoff ensued after the man was cornered on the roof of a building on Stanley Avenue.

The NYPD was called in to assist, providing a large inflatable air bag in case the man had jumped.

Police transported the man to a local psychiatric hospital for observation. They say criminal charges may be pending.
