Residents bundle up to catch Yankees' Opening Day game

Thousands of Yankees fans braved the cold and damp weather today to be a part of Opening Day at Yankee Stadium.The team started the season off with a 1:05 p.m. game against the Detroit Tigers, who it defeated 6-3. Mark Teixeira had a three-run homer for the Yankees and Curtis Granderson hit the go-ahead solo home run in the seventh inning. CC Sabathia pitched six innings for the team and Joba Chamberlain picked up the win. When asked about the weather, one fan said "Opening Day is a great experience whether it's snowing, raining, hailing - we'll always be here to support our team, the New York Yankees"The Bronx Bombers are looking to bring home championship No. 28 this season.
