City Council president declares victory in WP mayoral election

White Plains City Council President Tom Roach (D) has declared victory in the city's special mayoral election.

Roach has served as acting mayor following the resignation of former White Plains Mayor Adam Bradley, who stepped down in January amidst a domestic violence scandal.

"I'll do what I've done since I've been on the council, and since becoming acting mayor," Roach said. "Work as hard as I can."

Roach beat out the other two candidates, former New York Giants football player Bob Hyland (R) and Glen Hockley (I).
