Advisory lifted after snow melt contaminates WC water

A boil water advisory has now been lifted for the Westchester communities that have been under the alert for several days.

The alert was issued for residents in Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown, Elmsford, Hawthorne, Valhalla and Thornwood after health officials said that water coming from reservoirs in the Catskills was contaminated.

Officials say that the water has been tested and is now safe.
