Greenburgh deli owner pins hopes on drive-through

A Greenburgh deli owner on the verge of going out of business wants to implement an idea he thinks will save his store: a drive-through window.

Ernie Tartaglione, who opened Deli Delicious 28 years ago with his mother, says his breakfast and lunch crowds are down 60 percent.

But Tartaglione has been told the local zoning board thinks the drive-through may not drum up more business for his deli and could cause more traffic problems on the heavily traveled Tarrytown Road.

The Greenburgh Zoning Board is expected to make a final decision on the proposed drive-through at its meeting next Thursday night.
