Feds: Star witness may have lied in 'Newburgh 4' trial
Federal prosecutors are now admitting that their star witness in the "Newburgh Four" trial, Shahed Hussain, may have lied during his testimony.
The four men were convicted of plotting to blow up synagogues in The Bronx and shoot down military aircraft at Stewart Air Base.
Prosecutors say that Hussain's lies do not amount to perjury and that it does not justify throwing out the guilty verdicts, as the jury could have chosen to not believe him in the first place.
The four men are all appealing their verdicts on the basis that they were entrapped by the FBI during their investigation.
