Bathrooms reopen at New Rochelle Metro-North stations

Metro-North riders who use the New Rochelle train station will once again have restrooms at their disposal.

The restrooms were closed because of vandalism, but an agreement between the city and Metro-North will lead to them being reopened.

The vandalism, along with general maintenance, was costing the City of New Rochelle about $50,000 a year and city officials said they could no longer afford to foot the bill.

Under the agreement, the railroad police will begin patrolling the restrooms.
