Police: Man shot, killed on E. 165th Street

The NYPD is searching for a suspect who they say shot and killed a man Saturday evening.

Police responded to a 911 call of shots fired on East 165th Street at around 5:30 p.m. They arrived to find 27-year-old Timothy Hairston unconscious and unresponsive, with gunshot wounds to the chest.

Hairston was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

A witness says he saw Hairston walking out of a liquor store when he was shot. Police have not confirmed a motive in the case.

No suspects have been named, and the investigation is ongoing.
