Tenants without heat feel the winter chill

December weather is back, and some Bronx tenants are feeling the cold more than others.
Mott Haven residents at the Patterson Houses on 3rd Avenue say they're struggling without heat and hot water, a problem that's been plaguing them since September.
Many tenants, including 77-year-old Lovely Bowling, complain that they've had to come up with creative ways to bathe and stay warm, including leaving their ovens on and boiling water.
The tenants say they've been calling NYCHA for help and even wrote a petition, but are still not out of the cold.
News 12 reached out to NYCHA, which sent back a statement saying that there is currently no heat and hot water outage. It added that residents should call its hotline to report problems.
