Fordham soccer team to play in NCAA tournament

The Fordham University soccer team will face 48 other teams in the upcoming NCAA tournament.

The 6-seed team recently beat the top three teams in the conference to capture the title at the Atlantic 10 tournament.

Though they were regular season conference champs in 2011, players say recent seasons have been hard. The team came in this season with seven new starters.

This is the first time since 1996 that Fordham will play in the NCAA tournament. They have never won a game in the tournament, however.

They previously lost 2-0 to their first round opponent, Dartmouth, in a regular season game. Players say their momentum and confidence is now miles ahead of where it was six weeks ago.
