17-year-old girl killed in crash on the Hutch

A teenager is dead and a young man is in the hospital after a one-car crash on the southbound Hutchinson River Parkway. 



According to police, the 17-year-old girl was in the front passenger seat when the driver slammed into a side barrier near Exit 3 for the Pelham Parkway at around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. 



The teen, whose identity has not been released, was found in the middle of the roadway, and was pronounced dead at the scene. 



The 21-year-old driver of the Toyota Camry is listed in stable condition at Jacobi Medical Center. 



Authorities are still investigating, and no arrests have been made. It is not yet clear if speed or weather played a role in the accident.
