Nonprofit helps find housing for veterans

Those who have served our country are looking to help others coming home from service.

Veterans with the nonprofit organization Devil Dog USA Inc. have been working to make sure that veterans returning home from service will have places to live.

Some workers with the organization say they were homeless themselves and know veterans who were homeless for a year or more.

The organization has been demolishing vacant property in the borough in order to recreate it into housing for veterans who are also students.

The demolition finished Tuesday, and the group is hoping the Buildings Department will come in, inspect and allow them to start building.
