Montefiore Medical Center officially opened its new ambulatory surgery center Monday on Waters Place.
Hospital staff, elected officials and members of the public gathered for the opening of what's being called one of the region's largest ambulatory surgery centers.
The 12-story Hutchinson campus, which offers out-patient services only, will provide primary and specialty care visits, surgery, and a pharmacy.
The radiology center is open and taking patients now. Officials say the operating rooms should be open by Dec. 1.
Other specialty centers including ophthalmology, urology and pediatrics are expected to open in January.
