NYPD: Suspect in custody in NYCHA double homicide

NYPD officials say they have a suspect in custody in the shooting deaths of two men at NYCHA's Morrisania Air Rights complex.
According to police, the shooting occurred in an elevator at around 11 a.m. on the seventh floor of the Park Avenue apartment building. The men were pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital.
The victims were 23-year-old Tykquan Fenell and 26-year-old Darryl Page. Fenell was a resident of the building.
NYPD officials said the suspect was apprehended at the building and that police are questioning him. They say a firearm was recovered.
The double shooting happened at the same building as where another man was shot in the leg outside at around 12:45 a.m. There is no word on whether the shootings could be related.
The complex borders the 42nd and 44th precincts, an area that has seen at least 11 murders since the beginning of the month, according to NYPD statistics. In those two precincts, more than 70 people have been struck by a bullet this year.
NYCHA's Morrisania Air Rights complex houses nearly 2,000 people. It also neighbors NYCHA's Melrose and Jackson houses.
