Tenants: Feces smeared on elevator buttons

Tenants of the borough's Webster Houses are outraged by the unsanitary conditions inside their elevator.

The Webster Avenue residents complain that for the past year, someone has been smearing what they say looks and smells like feces all over the elevator buttons in their building.

They complain that it happens every night after the maintenance man has cleaned, and with many elderly and disabled people in the building, taking the stairs isn't an option.

The tenants are asking NYCHA to put in a camera to catch the person responsible. They've also filed police reports, called 311 numerous times and sent pictures to the mayor.

NYCHA says it is working with the NYPD and that it will continue to ensure that staff cleans and sanitizes the area until the matter is resolved.
