Bronx church raises $40K for Sandy repairs
A Bronx church still suffering from the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy is bouncing back after raising $40,000 to repair its roof.
Walls and windows at the Green Pastures Baptist Church in the Bronx still need replacement.
But Pastor Roger Hambrick says that major renovations are on the back burner as his congregation focuses on preserving core features, like its Tiffany stained-glass windows.
A church foundation is also lobbying to have the church declared a landmark for its architecture and history.
