2 Walton High School students slashed following fight on Jerome Avenue

Two teenagers were taken to a hospital after a fight broke out this afternoon near Walton High School.

Police say two 15-year-old boys were slashed in the back in front of LJ Pizzeria on Jerome Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Monday. They say the incident took place as students were being let out of school.

The incident, which was caught on surveillance video, involved a large group of kids who had gathered in front of the pizzeria. Soon after, a fight broke out.

Those who work in the area say fights involving students from Walton High School happen every day.

The two students who were injured in the incident were transported to Jacobi Medical Center and are said to be in stable condition.

News 12 The Bronx reached out to the Department of Education for comment on the incident, but has not heard back yet.
