A shooting was reported at Gauchos Gym in Mott Haven Monday evening during a basketball game, police say.

News 12 is told that several shots were fired at the gym Monday night. News 12 Sport Reporter Greg Thompson was at the gym when the shots broke out, and got exclusive video from the scene.

 

Police say two people got into an argument during the game between Savior Lutheran and Putnam Science Academy that escalated, leading one person to shoot into the air.

Thompson says hundreds went running for their lives amid the chaotic scene. He says when the first shot went off, he and other witnesses said it sounded like something in the gym broke, but then after a short delay, multiple shots were fired back-to-back.

No injuries were reported.

Coaches at the gym say an individual wearing a black jacket came onto the court and walked backwards while firing shots.
