Rent hike for stabilized housing in effect

More than 1 million rent-stabilized households will be impacted Thursday when rent increases go into effect.
Back in June, the NYC Rent Guidelines Board adopted new renewal lease guidelines for rent-stabilized apartments. For those with one-year leases, there's a hike of 3 percent. A 6 percent hike goes into effect for two-year leases.
Renters from all over the city will protest the increases Thursday on the steps of City Hall.
