Police seek suspect in Dunkin' Donuts store robbery
Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a Dunkin' Donuts store on Westchester Avenue Wednesday night.
Investigators say a man wearing a mask and a hooded sweatshirt walked into an the empty Dunkin Donuts store at 1791 Westchester Ave. and pointed a gun at the cashier, ordering him to empty the register. The robber made off with $600 in cash. There were no customers in the store, and no one was hurt in the incident.
The targeted Dunkin' Donuts store is located in a busy commercial district, steps away from a subway entrance and blocks away from a local school.
"For someone to come in here and point a gun to them and take what little money?it's absurd, and my heart is just pounding right now hearing there was a robbery last night," says frequent customer Teddy Dukes.
Police say the robbery was caught on tape, but they were unable to get a clear picture of the suspect robber from the surveillance video.
