Police: Man in custody after running over traffic cop

Police have found the man who allegedly ran over a 26-year-old traffic officer on Jerome Avenue while evading a ticket Friday.
Police say the female officer was about to give Anthony Gruillon, 26, a ticket for a double-parked car when he fled the scene, hitting the officer and crushing her legs.
The incident happened in front of a church where Gruillon is a member. Churchgoers say the 52nd Precinct gave them double-parking permits, and they don't understand why the officer was giving tickets.
The officer is now hospitalized at Saint Barnabas. Gruillon, who turned himself in, was charged with felony assault and leaving the scene of an accident.
