Police arrest Lawrence Mulqueen for alleged weapons possession, hit list

Detectives found that Mulqueen had made threats toward Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Sen. Chuck Schumer and other elected officials. (2/21/13)

NANUET - Police have arrested a Rockland County man who they say had a hit list targeting elected officials on the local and national level.

Lawrence Mulqueen, 49, lived in a rented space on Freedman Avenue in Nanuet. His landlady says she became increasingly worried about him, prompting her to call the authorities. Upon arrival, they allegedly found rifles, bayonets, body armor and 100 rounds of ammunition.

After further investigation, detectives also unearthed death threats posted on a fake Facebook page. Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Sen. Chuck Schumer and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg were among the politicians mentioned on the list.

Police say Mulqueen has a felony record, which should have prohibited him from owning the weapons in the first place.
