The new Hire A Yonkers Youth program matches 14 to 21-year-olds with businesses in all kinds of fields.

YONKERS - The city of Yonkers announced a new program aimed at helping young people get jobs this summer.

The new Hire A Yonkers Youth program matches 14 to 21-year-olds with businesses in all kinds of fields.

Currently 175 applicants will be placed, but more than 500 young people have already signed up for the program.

The Yonkers Workforce Investment Board says it needs more business leaders to sign up for the program.
