YONKERS - A Yonkers police officer arrested on drug charges earlier this month is now in treatment, his attorney revealed in court today.

Officer Scott Stefanik was supposed to be in Yonkers City Court for his arraignment today. Instead, his attorney told the judge that Stefanik is undergoing treatment, though he wouldn't specify what the treatment is.

Stefanik was arrested after Yonkers police found him involved in an alleged drug transaction. He allegedly had 17 various pills and two bags of cocaine on him when he was arrested. He has been charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Stefanik will be formally arraigned next month after he leaves the undisclosed medical facility. He has been suspended without pay.
