YONKERS - A Yonkers police officer has been accused of dealing drugs while off duty.

Co-workers say they arrested officer Scott Stefanik after they witnessed the three-year veteran of the force taking part in a drug deal Thursday.

Yonkers police say they were in the Locust Hill Avenue neighborhood conducting an investigation into drug sales when they noticed Stefanik involved in a drug transaction.

Yonkers Police Commissioner Charles Gardineer told News 12 that Stefanik has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of an investigation.
