Yonkers Fire Commissioner Robert Sweeney is retiring after almost two years on the job.

Sweeney presided over his last promotion ceremony Wednesday. He is leaving the Yonkers Fire Department and returning to the FDNY.

Sweeney previously served at the FDNY for 33 years and held the second-highest ranking office until coming to Yonkers in August 2012.
