Yonkers Department of Public Works Commissioner Tom Meier says residents need to move their snowed-in cars from the sides of snow emergency routes in the city.

News 12 was on the scene at Warburton Avenue, a snow emergency route, where cars were plowed-in Friday afternoon.

“We need to open the roads up so police and fire trucks can respond to emergencies a lot quicker,” said Meier.

Alternative side of the street parking has been suspended through next week.
