YONKERS - Organizers say more than 20,000 people showed up for a St. Patrick's Day celebration in Yonkers today, as the city's Irish neighborhood held a parade down the so-called Emerald Mile.

The second annual McLean Avenue St. Patrick's Day Parade was created last year to boost turnout at local businesses.

The celebrations kicked off earlier this week, when Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano painted a green line on the street to mark the parade route.
