Wrong-way driver accused of DWI in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE - A wrong-way driver is facing DWI charges after crashing overnight in New Rochelle.

Police say Paolo Pacheco, 26, from New Rochelle, was heading southbound in the northbound lane on Main Street. The car lost control and slammed into a glass window early this morning. He also hit two mailboxes and two street poles.

Police say Pacheco is expected to be released later in the day after facing a judge.

New Rochelle police say they also arrested three other people for driving while intoxicated over the holiday weekend.
