NEW WINDSOR - The owners of an Orange County business got quite a shock yesterday when a car crashed into their building.

Police say they found an older model Cadillac smashed into Global Partners, a fuel distribution company, on River Road in New Windsor around 7 p.m. yesterday.

Witnesses told cops they saw a female driver walking away from the accident scene. After about an hour, new Windsor police say they found Erin Gatti, 36, of New Windsor hiding in the woods. Officers say they found her covered in mud and leaves.

Gatti was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident and DWI. Cops say Gatti also had a small amount of heroin in her pocketbook and was charged with misdemeanor drug possession. She was sent to Orange County Jail on $1,000 bail.

News 12 has been told there was only minor damage to the building.
