YONKERS - A Yonkers man is facing seven years behind bars after pleading guilty in the drunken-driving death of his girlfriend.

Prosecutors say William Watkins-Gomes admitted to vehicular manslaughter, DWI and reckless driving in connection with the incident last August.

Police say Watkins-Gomes was drunk and high on marijuana when he was driving on West Sandford Boulevard in Mount Vernon. He jumped the curb, side-swiped a building and crashed into a tree. His girlfriend, Kelly Williams, who was a passenger, died from her injuries.

He is scheduled for sentencing May 20.
